Tussah Silk is a wild silk, made by tussah silk worms that eat juniper leaves and oak. The silk is produced in the wild and not a controlled environment. As a result, the fibre tends to be slightly coarser than cultivated silks, such as mulberry silk. This bleached tussah silk is lighter in colour than the natural tussah silk tops but a darker shade than the extra bleached tussah silk tops.

It is a lustrous fibre for spinning and felting.
