Flax, also known as linen, widely considered to be the oldest fibre used in the Western world. It is allergy-free, absorbs humidity and allows the skin to breathe. It is antistatic, antibacterial and low elasticity (fabrics don't deform). Linen can be washed many times without alteration. It is able to absorb up to 20 times its weight in moisture before it feels damp.
Flax is great for spinning and can be added to felting projects.
We currently stock a range of commercially dyed flax tops. Select the colour and weight from the drop-down menu.
