Mulberry silk, also known as Bombyx silk, is a higher quality silk than the Tussah. Mulberry is much finer than the Tussah and the individual strands are longer. Mulberry is always more vibrant and lustrous.
Our Mulberry 20/2 Silk Yarn produces a spectacular woven fabric with excellent drape. It is perfect for weavers and fine for machine knitters. It is a soft lace weight yarn with brilliant lustre and perfect for shawls and stoles. Great to dye with in solid or variegated colours.
This is a strong 2-ply yarn that is excellent for knitting, machine knitting, crocheting and weaving.
