The Shropshire breed is classified as a fine breed. The breed traces back to the early 19th Century with records showing the breed originating from the West Midlands, UK. This hardy looking breed creates a brilliantly white wool that lends itself to dyeing, spinning and felting.
The fibre is 31-33 microns and the fibre length is 60-100mm.
