FibreX Anti-Discrimination Policy
FibreX Policy Against Discrimination and Harassment |
At FibreX, we value the open exchange of ideas and freedom of expression of all our community members. We want to provide a setting in which you can feel comfortable and accepted for who you are. For this reason, we ask that our stall holders, teachers and attendees all abide by this Policy Against Discrimination and Harassment during their time at FibreX. This policy covers the entire event, including workshops and craft groups. The complaining party and the subject of the complaint must both be attendees on the day. 1. FibreX prohibits discrimination and conduct that constitutes or could lead or contribute to harassment based on an individual’s race or colour, religion or religious beliefs, migrant or citizenship status, national origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, disability, marital or domestic partnership status, military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. 2. FibreX prohibits any sort of harassment or bullying that may rise to the level of persistent, intimidating or threatening behaviour that (a) causes substantial interference with an attendee’s participation in the event, or (b) causes an attendee to fear for his or her physical safety. Examples of prohibited discriminatory harassment include, but are not limited to:
Harassment and bullying can create an intimidating, hostile and offensive environment. It is distressing and can affect the recipient’s mental and physical well being. There will be no tolerance of such behaviour at FibreX. Complaint Procedures If you believe that you or any other FibreX attendee has been subject to harassment by another attendee, you are urged to report the facts promptly to the FibreX Management Committee. All reports will be followed up directly and action taken to resolve the issue. |
